Golden Island Dim Sum & Asian Cuisine has quietly become one of San Diego’s most unique live music dining experiences — blending authentic Asian cuisine, craft cocktails, and weekly live jazz into an atmosphere unlike anything else in Southern California.
Every Friday, Dim Sum & Jazz transforms Golden Island into a cultural collision of East and West — featuring San Diego jazz legends, touring artists, swing orchestras, soul performers, and modern interpretations of classic American music traditions.
What started as an experiment has evolved into one of San Diego’s longest-running weekly live music dining series.

The multifaceted musical force Charlie Arbelaez was born in Brooklyn, NY. Charlie shared the stage with many notable local jazz artists, including: Arturo Sandoval, Ira Sullivan, and Nestor Torres. When he graduated from South Plantation High School, he was the recipient of the top scholarship award from The Gold Coast Jazz Society.
